SOMERSET HOSPITAL RECIEVES UPGRADE, RENOVATION FUNDS

Shuster Applauds Grant To Expand Services At Somerset Hospital

Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today a grant for the Somerset Hospital Capital Improvement Project.  This project will include physical renovations and expansions, as well as the purchase and implementation of new technologies and equipment.

“Health care is something important to all of us and in Congress we have been working to make it more accessible,” said Congressman Shuster, a member of the Rural Health Care Coalition.  “This funding will provide better technology and more equipment to meet the needs of patients at Somerset Hospital.”

The Somerset Hospital Capital Improvement Project will receive $250,000 for these renovations.  These purchases are necessary to expand health care services for the Hospital’s growing service area, which now includes more than 58,000 residents in Somerset County.

“Somerset Hospital provides health care for a large community and we must make sure they have the appropriate resources to meet these needs,” said Congressman Shuster.

The Somerset Hospital grant was included in the Labor, Health and Human Services section of the Omnibus spending bill, a massive piece of legislation which includes a variety of appropriations.
