Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster, a member of the Armed Services Committee, supported passage of a resolution last week to reaffirm the House of Representative’s support for Israel, condemn Hezbollah for their actions, and condemn the governments of Iran and Syria for their continued support for Hezbollah.
"Hezbollah is a group on the U.S. terrorist list and their actions against Israel should be condemned by the international community. This most recent crisis between Israel and Lebanon started because the terror group Hezbollah kidnapped Israeli soldiers and launched assaults on Israeli cities," said Shuster. "These acts are in defiance of the Lebanese government and United Nations sanctions. Israel not only has the right to defend itself, but should work with Lebanon and the United States to dismantle and destroy Hezbollah, one of the largest, most sophisticated and most dangerous terrorist organizations in the world." |
