Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Shuster announced today funding for the Hollidaysburg YMCA and the Coal Country Hang-Out Youth Center in Northern Cambria. The funds were included in the Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill.
“These organizations go along way for the entire community,” said Shuster. “The YMCA and the Youth Center keep kids engaged and active and they provide a variety of activities for people all around the area to become involved with.”
The Hollidaysburg YMCA will receive $50,000 to renovate and expand its facility while the Youth Center in Northern Cambria will receive $60,000 to construct a new playground. The Coal Country Youth Center serves 6,000 low-income kids in the area.
These funds were secured in the Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill, which passed Congress and was recently signed by President Bush. |
