Marchant's Office Hosts Service Academy Interviews and Gives Nominations

 IRVING – The office of U.S. Congressman Kenny Marchant (TX-24) held service academy interviews on Saturday, January 16 at the district office in Irving.  The interviews are necessary for receiving nominations to the prestigious service academies. 

From the interviews, many fine applicants from the 24th Congressional district received nominations to the one of the prestigious service academies. Each year four of the service academies, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, Naval and the Military Academy at West Point, give appointments to the most deserving nominees from each congressional district.  All academies maintain rigorous standards and low acceptance rates and it is considered an honor to be offered an appointment.  On average, the monetary value of each education is approximately $250, 000.
