Washington, D.C.U.S. Representative Rick Larsen (WA-02) released the following statement in reaction to Northrop Grumman’s decision to not bid on the aerial refueling tanker contract. This announcement leaves Boeing as the sole bidder for the Air Force contract.

“Today’s announcement that Northrop Grumman will not bid against Boeing in the aerial refueling tanker competition is a testament to the quality of Washington state aerospace workers. Building these tankers in Northwest Washington will bring much-needed jobs to our corner of the state. We are home to a world-class workforce and I am confident in their ability to build the best equipment for our men and women in uniform.

“I will continue to support this workforce by working with my colleagues in Congress to ensure the Pentagon purchases the highest quality tankers for our warfighters at the best value for American taxpayers.”
