(Washington, DC)— Congresswoman Gwen Moore (D-Wisc.) today commented on the tragic shooting at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday. One of the soldiers killed, Sergeant Amy Krueger, was from Kiel, Wisconsin. Sergeant Krueger, 29, was an Army sergeant with the Army’s 467th Medical Detachment and had arrived at Fort Hood Tuesday before she was scheduled to go to Afghanistan.
An additional two Wisconsin soldiers were also wounded in the incident, and are recovering.
Congresswoman Moore said the following:
“My prayers go out to all of those killed or injured yesterday, as well as their stricken or grieving families
“The death of Amy Kruger is a terrible tragedy, and my heart and deepest sympathies go out to her family and friends.
“I would also like to recognize the heroic efforts of 19-year-old Amber Bahr, of Random Lake, who continued working to save other wounded soldiers despite her own injuries. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family, and with Army Reserve Spc. Grant Moxon and his family.
