Amount requested: $5,000,000 The funding for this project will support research efforts at the CIVS, at Purdue’s Calumet campus, as well as research efforts at the West Lafayette campus. Funding will also support further expansion of computational tools and equipment. The CIVS allows professors and students to conduct research through advanced simulation, modeling, and visualization technology. These technologies provide an innovative way to learn and understand extremely complex information through visualizing, manipulating, and interacting with computer-generated simulation and models, as well as allow users to interact with three dimensional computerized environments. Rapid advancements in computation speeds, sophisticated graphics, and numerical methods enable the widespread use of simulation including the design and optimization of industrial systems. Funding is administered by the National Nuclear Security Administration, charged with maintaining Advanced Simulation and Computing (ASC) capabilities. CIVS furthers this goal, and fits well within the ASC program. Recipient Address: Purdue University Calumet, 2200 169th Street, Hammond, IN 4632 |
