Amount Requested: $7,200,000
The funding will be used by the City of Gary to reconstruct and expand Ridge Road, from Broadway to Grant Street. The project will include widening of the road, construction of appropriate storm water infrastructure, and installation of curbs, lighting and sidewalks. Ridge Road is the nearest east-west alternate route to the heavily travelled Borman Expressway (Interstate 80/94) and this project will make the road a more viable congestion reliever.
