Amount Requested: $1,090,000
The funding will be used by the City of Crown Point to rehabilitate and replace the sanitary sewer system in the Fashion Terrace neighborhood. The failing 50 year-old system serves 140 homes and currently takes over 20 times the average flow during wet weather. This project will eliminate excess flow of storm water into the sanitary sewer system and as a result prevent sewer backups in other areas of the city. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
