Amount Requested: $16,000,000
The funding will be used by the City of Hammond to significantly reduce the combined sewer overflow (CSO) into the Grand Calumet River. Project components include the construction of a 25 million gallon CSO storage basin and the corresponding infrastructure to receive and dispose of the flow from three pump stations. Investment in wastewater infrastructure provides significant environmental, public health, and economic benefits to the local communities and the nation.
