Township of Union - Irvington Branch of Lightning Brook Wall Replacement
 
Amount Requested: $2,750,000
The Township of Union has requested funds for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the eroding banks of the Irvington Branch of Lighnting Brook.  This request will fund the costs related to the design, permits, land acquisition, demolition, construction and contract administration and inspection for 2,700 lineal feet of retaining wall replacement. The township believes replacement of an additional 2,700 lineal feet is necessary to prevent a catastrophic failure of the present retaining wall through erosion and scouring, negatively impacting 19 residential and 11 business properties and risking human injury and loss of real property.
