Union County College - Green Workforce Service Project
 
Amount Requested: $1,075,000

Union County College, in cooperation with other agencies, is dedicated to serving the higher educational needs of Union County. Funding would be used to create a two-year “Green” jobs program through UCC’s workforce development and adult education programs that will support the creation of “green” jobs for Union County and a “Green Careers and Lifestyles” education for teens through after-school and summer programs.   In addition, the Architecture, Engineering and Environmental Science departments at UCC will develop a Green Technology option to the Engineering, Associate in Science degree program.  The program will consist of courses on sustainable energy sources and sustainable green building development and design.
