Funds would be used for the replacement of the Orange Police Department’s Information Technology infrastructure, and Computer Aided Dispatch/ Records Management System, both of which are in imminent danger of total failure. The City of Orange Township recognizes the need to improve our Public Safety Information Technology Infrastructure. •Will give the police department the capability to accurately monitor crime, conduct assessments, devise crime suppression strategies, and assess crime suppression effectiveness,
•Support and enhance our enforcement , and investigative capabilities,
•As part of our Incident Management and Homeland Security operations under Emergency Management, will provide the City of Orange Township with the ability to efficiently and effectively mitigate unusual incidents, and
•As part of our Incident Management and Homeland Security operations under Emergency Management, will provide the City of Orange Township the ability to link to surrounding jurisdictions with the same software, thereby supporting multi-jurisdictional mitigation, coordination, efficiency, and continuity of operations across jurisdictional lines.
The funding of this request will facilitate the overall goal of being in compliance with the National Incident Management System (NIMS)
