Appropriations Requests

PVSC owns and operates the third largest wastewater treatment plant in the nation. This project will expands the capacity of the Wastewater Treatment plant, reducing the amount of debris washing up on New Jersey beaches and reducing the discharge of toxic compounds that affect our ability to consume fish and dispose of dredged material in the NY Harbor. PVSC’s Passaic River/Newark Bay Restoration Program has already significantly alleviated the pollution in the river, bay and along the New Jersey shore. This project will allow PVSC to treat substantially more wastewater, while at the same time continuing to reduce water pollution.
