Holt, Hsueh Mark Installation of Big Bear Brook Bridge

Washington, D.C. --- --- D.C. ---

Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) on Saturday joined West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh to mark the installation of a pedestrian and bike bridge over Big Bear Brook in Community Park. The path will allow pedestrians and cyclists from the Rabbit Hill Road area to easily access Community Park as well as other locations south of Princeton-Hightstown Road (County Route 571).

"This trail for cyclists and pedestrians will connect communities and allow New Jerseyans to exercise and enjoy open space,” said Holt.  “I am happy to mark the installation of this bridge over Bear Brook, and I look forward to enjoying the length of the trail myself when it is complete. The expanding network of bike and pedestrian paths is improving the livability of Central New Jersey."

The 135-foot bridge is part of a 3,000 foot path connecting Rabbit Hill Road with Community Park. The bridge spans Big Bear Brook along the northern portion of Community Park near the Grovers Mill Pond. West Windsor was able to construct the bridge as a result of $200,000 that Rep. Holt secured in the 2002 Transportation Appropriations Act.

“We are grateful to Congressman Holt for all of his efforts on behalf of West Windsor Township and its residents,” said Hsueh.
